JERSEY CITY, NJ– A 47-year-old Jersey City man faces multiple drug counts related to 119 bags of cocaine and 43 bags of heroin following his arrest on Sunday.

Jersey City police were conducting surveillance on the 700 block of Ocean Avenue at 1:30 p.m. when they saw two men make a phone call and Anthony Davis then showed up and approached them, the criminal complaint says.

Officers said they were watching as one of the men handed Davis money and he handed one of the men something before the two men walked away and were stopped by police. One man had three bags of cocaine and the other had one, the complaint says.

Davis is charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin and cocaine, possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school and within 500 feet of public property, the complaint says.

He is also charged with distribution of cocaine near a school and near public property, the complaint says.

The state moved to detain Davis when he made his first appearance on the charges on Tuesday in Criminal Justice Reform Court in Jersey City. A detention hearing is scheduled for Friday before Hudson County Superior Court Judge Paul DePascale.

He was released on Friday May 26, 2017 from Hudson County Correctional Facility.
